Vitrified Data

This work was the digital translation of my desk while working with hand collected materials to create ceramic surfaces in electric kilns in 2021. 


Off-grid Ceramics

Ongoing research project on supporting the popularity and low-barrier feasibilty of off-grid ceramic equipment. Through advocacy and research on kick wheels, bike-powered wheels, wood firing, hand processing clay, and solar capacity building the project highlights how ceramic practices of all kind can be both low emissions and belong to a wholly circular economy. 
 

Ceramic Interface

Upcoming & ongoing project established in 2022 in collaboration with myself and Hee Jun Ahn (Vancouver) and Kyusun Shim (Seoul) that investigates the interface(s) of clay including industrial utilization of ceramics. 
 

Tactile Ceramics

Upcoming project on tactile tiles and their navigational function in metropolitan space for blind and low-vision individuals, and the DIY applications of tactile communication for tile setters, makers, and artists.
